Frequently Asked Questions

What is this lawsuit about?

This lawsuit concerns the interchange fees charged to merchants who accepted Visa or
MasterCard credit or debit cards between January 1, 2004, and January 25, 2019. It
also addresses Visa’s and MasterCard’s rules for merchants accepting these cards.

What is an interchange fee?

An interchange fee is a charge applied to card transactions, typically ranging from 1% to 2% of the purchase price. These fees are a major component of the costs merchants

incur when accepting Visa and MasterCard payments. Visa and MasterCard set and
publish interchange fee rates, usually updated twice a year.

How much money will I get?

The amount you receive from the settlement will depend on your actual or estimated
interchange fees from Visa and MasterCard transactions between January 1, 2004, and
January 25, 2019. Your share will be influenced by the total amount available for
distribution, the number of valid claims, administrative costs, taxes, and legal fees.

When will claim forms be available?

Claim forms are currently available. Our team is actively collecting claim information and will submit it on your behalf soon.

Do I have to pay RDLLC anything if I don’t qualify?

No. You only pay if we successfully recover funds for you. If we recover money, we
receive a fee that is agreed upon in the contract, from the recovered amount. If no
recovery is made, you owe us nothing.

Do I have to hire an attorney to help me?

You do not need to hire an attorney for this settlement. However, working with our team ensures you receive all entitled benefits. Many class members miss out due to lack of awareness or incomplete claims. We’ll handle the submission process and ensure your claim is accurate and timely, disputing any discrepancies if necessary.

By signing the retainer, what are the main items I authorizing RDLLC to do for me?

By retaining us, you authorize our team to act on your behalf in all matters related to
your claim. This includes communicating with the Settlement Administrator, making
decisions regarding your status as a class member, preparing and submitting claim
forms, and addressing any follow-up requests for additional information.

Where can I find additional information about the Settlement?

Settlement website: https://www.paymentcardsettlement.com/

What is the current settlement status?

The Settlement Administrator is accepting claim submissions. Claim forms began
mailing to Class Members on December 1, 2023, and will continue to be sent out
throughout December.

What if I no longer have my business?

Your business does not need to be active to qualify. It must have been operational
between January 1, 2004, and January 25, 2019, and accepted Visa and MasterCard.
Even if your business is closed or dissolved, we will work with the settlement
administrator to determine your eligibility.
